CoreWeave (CRWV) Expands UK AI Investment to £2.5B During Trump Visit
AI infrastructure firm CoreWeave has announced an additional £1.5 billion investment in the UK, bringing its total commitment to £2.5 billion. The expansion coincides with former President Donald Trump's state visit, signaling strengthened US-UK tech collaboration.
The funding will establish new renewable energy-powered data centers capable of handling intensive AI workloads. CoreWeave's partnership with Nvidia and Scottish operator DataVita will deploy cutting-edge Grace Blackwell Ultra GPUs in Scotland, featuring sustainable closed-loop cooling technology.
This investment supports the UK Government's Compute Roadmap, creating critical infrastructure for researchers, startups, and public services. The MOVE follows CoreWeave's £1 billion UK investment in May 2024, which delivered two AI data centers within six months.
Globally, CoreWeave continues aggressive expansion, including a $6 billion data center project in Pennsylvania. The company maintains its dual focus on infrastructure development and AI startup support through strategic partnerships.
